about

Hot off the heels of April 2021's incredible Magic Window Session EP, Staffordshire based producer Howard Fox, aka Eonlake, has followed up in style with his sensational debut album, Sublimation Epoch.

Eonlake is both skylining and redlining with this LP, restless with dynamism and contemporary production techniques. Album opener 'Blood' is an absolute 'kitchen sink' of a track, wild and full to the brim with restless breakbeat energy, only to be followed up with the wonderfully contrasting 'Mote', which has a lineage in line with the mid-tempo soundscapes of post-Wonky Orbital, full of air and legato gracefulness.

Eonlake's mastery of the mix, which is always full but never cluttered, is showcased in mid-album tracks such as Zephyr and Temporal Drift, which have a kind of 'Tycho on Tramadol' gravitas; both intense tracks but won't kick your head in. Howard also lets you know he has a killswitch in his arsenal, with the sublime piano majesty of 'Truth' providing an embracing reset, and the album closer 'Memories of Earth', will make you feel 10 miles high - a beautiful and tranquil way to close out a truly staggering album.

Sublimation Epoch is a massive flex of the muscles from Eonlake, full of invention and beauty.

"Huge thanks to my ever supportive family for putting up with my endless obsession, and to the Werra Foxma team - Frazer, Hazel, Ali Staven and Kate for taking me in and for the opportunity and support, particularly Frazer for believing in the music as much as the artists, Steven for being a community focal point and conduit for the scene as well as being a fantastic chap, Kate for the airplay on the magnificent Dark Train and her artistic vision and patience, and to Hazel for her attention to detail. It's amazing what you guys do. Howard"

about

Eonlake UK

Eonlake is Howard Fox from London, who began playing in various unsigned bands before becoming a studio recording engineer, where he discovered his love of music production, recording and technology and how it could augment his solo musical plans. As much the synth nerd as ever, most of his time is spent producing as Eonlake surrounded by as many blinking lights, cables and controls as possible. ... more
